If you have booked a class with us, or are coming to collect an order or visit us for a consultation (which has been booked in advance), follow these instructions to find us at the Custard Factory in Digbeth. It's best not to 'drop in' if you'd like to talk to us as we might be busy teaching classes, or out on deliveries - it is always best to call or email us first.
For GPS devices, use the postcode B9 4AA. This will bring you to the Custard Factory, which is a large complex spanning a couple of streets (Floodgate Street, Gibb Street and Heath Mill Lane). There are lots of pay & display car parks in the area, and free parking on Floodgate Street (if you can find a space). When you arrive, you must report to the main reception on Gibb Street (the postcode for this is B9 4BF) - this is the pedestrian street where shops such as 'Audio Affair', 'The Framers' and the cafe 'Yumm' can be found. The Reception entrance is opposite the large wooden man sculpture - you will see glass doors covered in yellow diamonds, and a sign saying "DIGBETH" - these doors lead to a waiting area. Here, the Reception desk can be found - you must report here to gain access to our studios. Do not look for a shop front, or a sign with our name on it - you won't find one. Access can only be gained via the main Reception, and you will be met here by a member of the Chitty's team.
More information about the Custard Factory itself can be found here: http://www.custardfactory.co.uk/ You will find a lovely cafe called 'Kanteen', a bar called 'Clink' where you can enjoy craft beer, an independent cinema (with its own bar and restaurant) called 'The Mockingbird' and a variety of independent shops, so allow some extra time for your visit to explore this unique area of Birmingham.
