Learn to cover a square cake with chocolate ganache, sugarpaste and piped royal icing - 3 hours (£48)
In this 3 hour class, you will learn to make a chocolate ganache which will be used to give your cake a crumb coating. You will be provided with a 6 inch square chocolate cake which you will learn to level and cover with your chocolate ganache before colouring, rolling out and covering your cake in sugarpaste. You will also learn to craft a 3D bow, ribbon and a gift tag from sugarpaste to decorate your cake to look like a gift. You will also make royal icing and learn to pipe a message on your gift tag and a frill around the bottom of the cake.
As with all our classes, the equipment and ingredients are all provided for you and you will take home everything you make, along with a handout containing all the recipes and tips from the day. There are a maximum of 8 people on the class so you receive all the attention you need to create a beautiul cake.
This class can be taken with Cake Decorating (Part 1) but it is not necessary to do both, or to have done part 1 in order to book part 2. The class is suitable for beginners, but is particularly good for those who are confident bakers who want to know how to give their chocolate cakes a more professional finish.
We have two classes running in December where you have the option to make your 'present' cake Christmas themed with snowflakes, stars, glitter etc. Just book on to one of the classes running on Saturday 1st December or Tuesday 11th December to get in the Christmas spirit!
